Connected tools and permissions in Niki

Connected tools let Niki work with relevant information in your existing services. They are available only when configured and permitted by your workspace, plugin state and account permissions.

Gmail: email context and follow-ups

Email can provide context for a research task, an update or a follow-up draft. A useful brief identifies the relevant conversation, the questions to resolve and whether you want a draft for review. Do not assume that requesting a draft also authorises sending it.

You need access to the Gmail account and an available, authorised connection. The actions Niki can use depend on the enabled tools and granted permissions. Check the actual permission request before connecting; the service name alone does not promise access to every mailbox or action.

Microsoft 365: documents, mail and calendars

Microsoft 365 can contribute documents, messages and calendar context to a task. Examples include preparing a report from source documents or drafting an update from meeting material. Specify which sources should be used and what the finished output needs to contain.

Your existing permissions still apply. A connection does not give access to another person’s content or a shared resource unless the connected account and workspace are authorised to use it. Availability can depend on the organisation’s service and administrator settings.

Atlassian: issues and company knowledge

Jira and Confluence can provide issue and knowledge context for work such as launch preparation. Distinguish preparing a proposed issue update from applying it. Review the output and authorise any consequential change through the supported approval flow.

As with other services, the usable projects, spaces and actions depend on the connection and existing permissions. The homepage’s examples illustrate workflows rather than a complete catalogue of supported provider actions.

Choose the minimum useful access

Start with the sources a task actually needs. You may be able to attach a file instead of connecting a service. When a connection is needed, review its permissions and enable only the tools relevant to the work. Model output and retrieved content cannot authorise additional access.

A service outage, revoked permission or unavailable plugin can prevent work from completing. Disconnecting a provider does not itself delete content already imported into a workspace. Review the data-handling explanation and Privacy Policy before connecting sensitive material.

Confirm your workflow before rollout

Niki is in pre-launch. Contact support with the provider, task and kinds of resources you need to use, without including passwords or confidential source content. Confirm current access and supported actions before relying on an integration for an operational process.
